Data services prices
There are a number of ways to access ABS data, in addition to data available on the website. Compare data services and Available microdata to find the right product for you. Not all topics are available in all data services. Prices differ depending on the data service and type of data requested:
Members of participating universities will not be invoiced for products and services covered by the
ABS/Universities Australia Agreement. Universities Australia and participating universities have paid for access on behalf of their students, staff and researchers.
All charges listed include GST where applicable.
TableBuilder and MicrodataDownload
Subscribe your organisation to:
- access all reference periods within the data series
- access new datasets on the day of release
- add unlimited members to your organisation at any time (at no additional charge)
- subscribe to new data series at any time of year

Information consultancy service
The
Information Consultancy service provides aggregate data customised to meet your requirements. You may submit a request for an
obligation free quote. Minimum charge is approximately $600.
DataLab
The ABS commenced user charging for DataLab access on
1 October 2020, and is reviewing DataLab pricing in 2021.
For members of participating universities covered by the
ABS/Universities Australia Agreement these charges
will not apply until after June 2021. The ABS and Universities Australia may consider a change to costing arrangements from 1 July 2021.
Approved users can access
standard detailed microdata in the DataLab for approved projects. This includes:
- ABS survey and census collections
- Data ABS has collected from other organisations
- Integrated microdata such as:
- Multi-Agency Data Integration Project (MADIP) Basic Longitudinal Extract
- MADIP Modular product
- Business Longitudinal Analysis Data Environment (BLADE) Core plus BLADE ABS survey modules, Intellectual Property Longitudinal Research Data (IPLORD) and Merchandise Imports and Exports
- MADIP Modular product linked to BLADE Core plus ABS Business Characteristics Survey

Data integration services
If your project needs cannot be met using standard detailed microdata, you can request custom
data integration services (including for MADIP and BLADE). Custom microdata is accessed through the DataLab. DataLab access will be charged for custom microdata requests. Contact
data.services@abs.gov.au to discuss your data integration requirements and to request a quote.
