This variable is based on responses to the long-term health conditions question. It counts the number of people who selected 'Heart disease (including heart attack or angina)'. 

History and changes

This variable was first collected in 2021. 

In 2026 the ‘Does not have heart disease (including heart attack or angina)’ category code was changed to 000.
