Elizabeth Williamson*, Deputy Australian Statistician, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Audit Executive and Chief Risk Officer
Elizabeth Williamson is the Acting Deputy Australian Statistician and Chief Operating Officer at the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Elizabeth joined the ABS in May 2022 from the Treasury, where she spent much of her career in roles across various economic, fiscal, international and regulatory policy areas, as well as her most recent role as the Chief Operating Officer. Liz has also worked as a Senior Executive in Prime Minister and Cabinet, in the Department of Finance and as a senior ministerial adviser to a former federal Treasurer. She holds a Masters in Government and Commercial Law from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Western Australia.
