ABS statistical program

The ABS will publish statistics and analysis to support a better understanding of children's experiences and outcomes across Australia. These products will be created using the Life Course Dataset.   

The ABS statistical program products will be designed to fill existing gaps in understanding children’s life experiences from 0 to 14 years of age. Some of these will include a new child-level composite indicator, and a series of community and national indicators relevant to social, economic and wellbeing outcomes. Where possible, information will be provided at the community level to inform better local decision making, policy and research. 

The ABS statistical program will be informed by consultation with researchers and policy makers, and engagement with communities and community organisations through the Community program.  

Products from the ABS statistical program will be released from late 2025.
