November 2025
Consumer Price Index are introducing the Consumer Price Indexes' new monthly time series from 26 November 2025. Dataset IDs: CPI_H CPI, CPI_M_H and CPI_M.
Detailed dataset changes:
- CPI 1.1.0 updated to CPI 2.0.0
- CPI_M 1.2.0 and CPI_M_H discontinued
- Base period updated to September 2025 = 100
- Frequency updated to monthly
- No changes to CPI_H except frequency updated to monthly
Improvements to descriptions as well as addition/removal of items in the following codelists:
- CL_CPI_INDEX_17 1.1.0 updated to CL_CPI_INDEX 1.0.0
- CL_CPI_MEASURES 1.0.0 updated to CL_CPI_MEASURES 1.1.0
- CL_CPI_REGION 1.0.0 updated to CL_CPI_REGION 1.1.0 - Note 'Weighted average of eight capital cities' code updated to 'Australia'
- CL_BASE_PERIOD 1.1.0 updated to CL_BASE_PERIOD 1.1.0
Monthly Business Turnover Indicator had its final release on 10 November 2025. See Monthly Business Turnover Indicator, August 2025 for more information, this follows the cessation of the Retail Business Survey and Retail Trade Publication. Dataset IDs: MBTI_H and BUSINESS_TURNOVER.
October 2025
Births, Australia released a new dataset on 15 October 2025. Please refer to Dataset ID: BIRTHS_MON_OCC_AGE_MOTHER.
Australian National Accounts: Supply Use Tables - new annual dataset (for 24 October 2025 release) - Supply Use Table, 2023–24, Dataset ID: ABS_SU_TABLE_2024.
August 2025
Regional population by age and sex released a new annual dataset on 28 August 2025. Please refer to Dataset ID ABS_ANNUAL_ERP_LGA2024.
July 2025
The June 2025 period release marked the final publication of Retail Trade, Australia, as announced via Media Statement.

The datasets for Indicator API (RT_H) and Data API (RT) will no longer be updated.
Monthly statistics on household spending have transitioned to the Monthly Household Spending Indicator (MHSI) and the data can be found in the HSI_M_H and HSI_M datasets.
June 2025
There have been improvements to the data on Labour Account Australia, Final Quarterly Balanced: Subdivision, Division and Total All Industries (LABOUR_ACCT_Q). Starting with the March 2025, data will now include Seasonally adjusted and Trend figures at the division level. Agriculture (AG_BROADACRE and AG_HORTICULTURE) have been expanded to include new years and new data items.
