The 1993-94 Household Expenditure Survey CURF contains data on 8,389 households in private dwellings including State/ Territory identifiers; household, family and income unit types; age, sex, marital status, birthplace, year of arrival in Australia, disability status and severity of handicap, labour force details, occupation, student status, details of income and source of income of persons in the household; details of mortgages, loans and credit cards, tenure, number of bedrooms and type of dwelling structure, number of spenders in household, details of weekly household expenditure by fine level expenditure commodity items (which were all included on the first edition CURF); taxable income, tax rebates, direct taxes, Medicare levy; estimated cost to the household of indirect taxes on petroleum and tobacco products, alcohol, ownership of dwellings, and other commodities; and estimated indirect benefits to the household for education, health, housing, welfare, and child assistance; the ages of the oldest and youngest dependent in the household, and the principle source of government benefits (which are the additional fiscal incidence study items for this second edition CURF).
