Users can subscribe to access TableBuilder, Confidentialised Unit Record Files (CURFs) and Detailed Microdata in the DataLab.

Datasets have been grouped into data series, so that users can access all reference periods available for a collection. For a full listing of the datasets that are included in each data series, see Available microdata. By subscribing, you will be able to access all reference periods for the datasets within the data series. When new datasets are released to your subscribed data series, all of your organisation's users can immediately have access on the day of release. New members of your organisation can also register and join at any time. Organisations can subscribe to microdata at any time of year.

See How to apply to register for TableBuilder, basic and expanded CURFs and detailed microdata. Census TableBuilder Basic datasets can also be accessed as a guest user without registering. Registering enables additional features such as saving tables, submitting large tables and creating custom groups.

You can subscribe to additional data series at any time of the year. Once you have applied, an invoice will be emailed to the organisation following approval by ABS of the microdata application. Staff and students of universities participating in the ABS/Universities Australia Agreement will not be invoiced for products and services covered under the agreement. This is because Universities Australia has paid for access on behalf of participating universities.

Individuals not associated with an organisation can also subscribe to microdata services. Contact for prices and further information.

The ABS privacy policy outlines how the ABS handles any personal information that you provide to us.

Microdata access is priced in accordance with ABS pricing policy.
