The 2001 National Health Survey, Indigenous Expanded CURF is a file of unidentified individual statistical records containing the following information about 3,198 persons enumerated in the 2001 National Health Survey (Indigenous) and 26,862 persons (483 Indigenous and 26,379 Non-Indigenous) enumerated in the 2001 National Health Survey:
- detailed demographic, education, labour force and income characteristics;
- the households and income units to which they belong;
- for Indigenous persons, whether they live in remote or non-remote areas;
- private health insurance arrangements and coverage by government health concession/entitlement cards;
- long-term medical conditions they experience, with a focus on the National Health Priority Area conditions of diabetes, cancer, asthma and cardiovascular conditions;
- long-term medical conditions reported as work related or due to an injury;
- recent events resulting in injury, including details of the injuries sustained and actions taken;
- recent visits to hospitals and day clinics;
- recent consultations with doctors, dentists and other health professionals;
- days away from work or study due to illness or as cares, and other days of reduced activity due to illness or injury;
- types of medications used for certain conditions;
- selected health-related lifestyle behaviours, including smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise, dietary behaviours and sun protection;
- self-assessed height and weight;
- adult and children's immunisation;
- breastfeeding; and
- selected data on women's health issues, including screening practices for breast and cervical cancer, hormone replacement therapy and contraception practices.
This CURF is only available via the ABS Remote Access Data Laboratory.
