A CURF contains unidentifiable unit records from key ABS Surveys. This listing provides a general description of the contents of an individual CURF to enable the selection of appropriate data for research projects.

Pregnancy and Employment Transitions Survey, 2005

The 2005 Pregnancy and Employment Transitions CURF consists of approximately 1,515 unidentified individual person level statistical records containing data on birth mothers aged 15 years and over, usually resident in private dwellings in Australia, with at least one child less than two years of age living with them at the time of the interview. The data include information about women's changing hours of work in their job during pregnancy; women's use of paid and unpaid leave associated with pregnancy, the birth of their child and the subsequent caring for the new born child; the length of leave breaks that mothers took in association with their pregnancy and the birth of their child; and the reasons for entering or not entering the workforce following the birth. Details of the work arrangements of the mother's partner, both before and after the birth, were also collected.

The 2005 Pregnancy and Employment Transitions CURF is available via the Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL) as an Expanded File ONLY. The RADL is accessible for authorised users via the ABS web site and enables the ABS to make more detailed microdata available than on CD-ROM, while still maintaining the confidentiality of ABS data providers.
