Commonwealth Electoral Divisions (CED) will be released in December 2026 to include redistributions made by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) on 8 October 2026 for the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, and Tasmania.
All other statistical areas remain unchanged.
Edition 4 will be progressively released from July 2026 to July 2030 as additional structures are finalised. For details, refer to the release schedule.
This publication includes different resources that can be used to visualise and analyse geographic boundaries, and to link the ASGS to ABS and other data. The table below summarises the main purpose for using each resource provided in this publication.
