Suspension of wages estimates
The end of the financial year is a period of increased seasonality in business reporting, as employee's earning information is finalised and the financial year is reset in payroll systems. Increased reporting seasonality across June and July results in a greater variation in payroll jobs and wages estimates, resulting in higher than usual revisions around this period.
As indicated in the previous release, estimates of wages are not included in this release as they are particularly affected by reporting seasonality across the change in financial year. Wages estimates, up to the week ending 13 August 2022, will be reinstated in the next release on 8 September 2022.
