Regional Labour Force is a new monthly statistical release

This is the first issue of the Regional Labour Force publication. It provides modelled labour force estimates for Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4) regions across Australia. The estimates are produced using small area estimation methods that combine information from the Labour Force Survey with administrative data sources.

Regional Labour Force will be released monthly, one week after Labour Force, Australia.

The ABS expects to introduce modelled Statistical Area 3 (SA3) estimates in November 2026.
