Main tasks

  • Plans the scope, goals, budget, schedule and staffing of programs or projects, in consultation with sponsors and stakeholders within discrete project timeframes
  • Coordinates and aligns projects or groups of related projects within a program to achieve strategic objectives
  • Leads and manages program or project delivery staff, contractors and suppliers to deliver agreed work on time and within budget
  • Tracks progress, cost and quality against program or project plans, and adjusts resources and timelines when needed
  • Identifies and manages risks and issues across programs or projects, and prepares plans to deal with them if they occur
  • Establishes program or project governance arrangements, business cases and prepares and presents status reports and other project papers to sponsors and decision-makers
  • Manages communication and relationships with program or project stakeholders, clients, suppliers, delivery teams and other project staff across the life of programs or projects
  • Oversees the handover, close-out, review and evaluation of programs or projects
