Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Gender Pay Gap Employer Statement – 2025

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) supports increased transparency as an important step towards achieving gender pay equality in Australia. We welcome the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Pay Gap Report and the contribution it makes to national understanding and action on closing the gender pay gap.

The ABS is committed to building a workplace where all employees are supported to contribute and thrive. In 2024, the Australian Statistician, Dr David Gruen AO, continued to drive inclusion and diversity initiatives, particularly development of the National Workplace Gender Equality Tracker, in his role as a member of the Champions of Change - STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and Health Group.
