Household Income Derivation Indicator

Household Income Derivation Indicator (HIDD)

This variable identifies households where people were temporarily absent, did not state their income, or stated a negative income.

Household income Derivation Indicator (HIDD) is derived from a number of variables including Household Composition (HHCD) and Total Personal Income (INCP). It also uses Count of Persons Temporarily Absent from Dwelling (CPAD) and the Count of Persons/Dependent Children Temporarily Absent from Family variables (CPAF / CDCAF) to isolate households with members aged 15 and over temporarily absent on Census Night.

For more information see the data quality statements for Household Composition (HHCD) and Total Personal Income (weekly) (INCP).

More information on HIDD is available in the 2011 Census Dictionary (cat. no. 2901.0).
