Same-sex couples - more results released
An article on same-sex couples has been released, following high levels of interest since 2011 Census data was released on 21 June. The number of same-sex couples reported in the Census was 33,714, 32% higher than in the 2006 Census. The 2011 Census Executive Director, Andrew Henderson said the increase in people reporting they are in a same-sex couple may reflect a greater willingness to provide this information in the Census. As well as the increase in same-sex couples in successive Censuses since 1996, the article covers age pattern, geographic location, family structures, cultural diversity and religion. |
