Help us wrap up the 2011 Census26 August 2011 | WA/51Census Collectors will be finalising collection of Census forms in Western Australia this weekend, 27-28 August. Census WA Director Mike Scott says this year’s Census Collectors have played a key role in planning for Australia’s future. “Overall, our Collectors have done an outstanding job, often in the face of adverse conditions and difficult circumstances. Collectors are the face of the Census and the backbone of the operation and their hard work has contributed to the success of the 2011 Census,” Mr Scott says. Mr Scott said there is still about 8 per cent of households to collect from. This includes quite high numbers in some inner city apartment buildings, and parts of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Pilbara where there are high numbers of shift workers. “Taking part in the Census is compulsory. If you still have your form, I urge you to mail it back to us or complete it online using eCensus. Call the Census Inquiry Service on 1300 338 776 to order a pre-paid mail back envelope or to obtain the necessary access codes for the eCensus,” Mr Scott adds. People can also mail their form themselves to: Australian Bureau of Statistics Census Reply Paid 86331 Melbourne VIC 8060 So far around 30 per cent of the population has chosen to complete the Census online using eCensus. eCensus remains open until 5 September. The first results of the Census will be released in June 2012.
