Information for Survey Participants
Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
We understand that coronavirus is affecting all parts of the country. This means it is even more important to participate in our surveys.
The information you provide will strengthen our understanding of the impact of coronavirus on the Australian economy, and help governments and communities make informed decisions around Australia’s response to the pandemic.
If coronavirus is impacting on your ability to respond to our survey please contact us to discuss your options.
The ABS and SCAMwatch have received reports of scammers making contact with residents over the phone and asking for personal information on behalf of the ABS. Please visit FAQs about household surveys to find out how to verify you have been contacted by a legitimate ABS officer.
ABS response to coronavirus (COVID-19)
The measures we are using to collect information are informed by the latest official advice. We have suspended all non-essential surveys and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community engagement. Only surveys critically important to understanding the impact of coronavirus are continuing.
Households and businesses are encouraged to complete their surveys online or by phone where possible. We will continue to assess and refine our approach over coming months as events unfold.
