There were 15,277 sentenced probation orders, up:

1% (186 orders) from 15,091 in the March quarter 2026
2% (360 orders) from 14,917 in the June quarter 2025.

There were 5,906 parole orders, up:

2% (115 orders) from 5,791 in the March quarter 2026
8% (437 orders) from 5,469 in the June quarter 2025.

There were 2,642 community service orders:

up slightly (10 orders) from 2,632 in the March quarter 2026
down 7% (201 orders) from 2,843 in the June quarter 2025.

Age-standardised community-based corrections

The Age-standardised community-based corrections data cube is included in the June quarter release each year. Data is presented by sex, Indigenous status and age as of 30 June.

Age-standardisation is a statistical method that adjusts crude rates to account for age differences between study populations. The ABS recommends that age-standardised rates be used when making comparisons between the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous populations. Age-standardised estimates are not required when making comparisons by age group (for example, 18–24 years).

Note that the data in the age-standardised community-based corrections data cube is not directly comparable to the first day of the month data (FDOM) used elsewhere in the publication. See the Methodology for more information.

As at 30 June 2026:

there were 78,543 persons serving CBC orders, down from 78,804 persons in 2025
the age-standardised rate was 389 persons per 100,000 adult population, down from 396 persons in 2025.

the crude rate was highest for persons aged between 35 and 44 years, at 586 persons per 100,000 adult population
the crude rate decreased between 2025 and 2026 for age groups under 45 years, but increased for the older age groups.
