Labour accounts

In seasonally adjusted terms, in the September quarter 2024:

• total jobs increased 1.5% to 16.3 million
• filled jobs increased 1.6% to 16.0 million
• secondary jobs increased 4.1% to 1.1 million
• proportion of vacant jobs decreased to 2.1%
• multiple job-holders increased 2.8% to 986,400
• hours worked increased 0.8% to 5.9 billion hours.

• Over the six years to June 2016, filled jobs grew by 6.9%.
• Over the same period, the number of employed persons increased by 6.8%.
• Over the six years to June 2016, hours actually worked increased by 5.7%.
• Total labour income increased over the six years to June 2016 by 21.5%.
