- Carries out inspections, maintenance and repairs in elevated, confined and restricted areas
- Sets up hauling and lowering systems for tools, materials or personnel
- Inspects and maintains rope access equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Ensures adherence to national and state/territory workplace health and safety standards and procedures
- May execute rope-based rescue procedures in emergencies
