• Greater Darwin's growth rate fell from 1.2% in 2016-17.

Largest growth areas: The Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) of Palmerston - South (up by 880 people), followed by Lyons (390) on the northern fringe of Darwin.

Fastest growth areas: Palmerston - South (22%), followed by Lyons (6.9%).

Regional growth areas: Outside of Greater Darwin, the outback SA2 of Tanami was both the largest and fastest growing area (up by 70 people, or 2.2%).
