In 2017-18:

• The number of people living in Greater Adelaide increased by 11,300 (0.8%), while the number living outside the capital city increased by 1,200 people (0.3%).

• Greater Adelaide's growth rate remained unchanged from 2016-17.

Largest growth areas: The Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) of Munno Para West - Angle Vale, in Adelaide's north (up by 730 people), followed by Mount Barker (560) in the Adelaide Hills and the inner-city SA2 of Adelaide (530).

Fastest growth areas: Munno Para West - Angle Vale (5.5%), followed by Virginia - Waterloo Corner (3.2%) in Adelaide's outer north, and Adelaide and Mount Barker (both 3.1%).

Regional growth areas: Outside of Greater Adelaide, Murray Bridge in the state's south-east had the largest population increase (320 people), while Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley grew the fastest (2.2%).
