In 2014-15, human resources devoted to R&D by PNP organisations totalled 6,019 person years of effort (PYE). This was an increase of 341 PYE (6%) from 2012-13.

Researchers and Other staff increased 384 PYE (11%) and 15 PYE (2%) respectively. Technicians decreased 58 PYE (5%). Researchers remained the largest type of resource in 2014-15, accounting for 63% of total human resources devoted to R&D by PNP organisations.
