NOTES

ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION

This publication presents estimates of the economic and financial performance of Australian industry for 2013-14. These estimates are compiled from the Economic Activity Survey (EAS) conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and from Business Activity Statement (BAS) data reported to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

The estimates in this publication are based on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC), 2006 edition (cat. no. 1292.0).

DATACUBES

The order of tables within the 'Australian industry by division' datacube has been changed. Tables 1-4 in the 'Australian industry by division' and 'Australian industry by subdivision' datacubes are now aligned. Tables 5-7 in the 'Australian industry by division' datacube are restricted to industry division only, and therefore only appear in this datacube. The order of tables within the other datacubes is unchanged.

INDUSTRY PROFILES

The ABS conducts a rotating program of detailed industry surveys. For the 2013-14 financial year, the ABS undertook surveys into the Information Media and Telecommunications and Adult, Community and Other Education industries (ANZSIC Division J and Subdivision 82 respectively). The Information Media and Telecommunications industry data was released by the ABS in Information Media and Telecommunications Services (cat. no. 8681.0) on 29 June 2015. The Education data will be released by the ABS as part of the National Accounts in due course. For 2014-15, the ABS will be conducting a survey of the Arts and Recreation Services industry (ANZSIC Division R), and these results are expected to be released in mid 2016.
