Boundaries for the new 2016 Commonwealth Electoral Divisions have been recently created for use in TableBuilder. Information on this page explains how to access 2011 Census data based on 2016 CED boundaries. Note that the 2016 CED boundaries are approximations only and are based on 2011 SA1 boundaries.
Data based on 2016 CED boundaries can be accessed in two ways;
Customised files in TableBuilder
For registered TableBuilder users, CSV files are available from the Customised CSV files table on this page. Download the files onto your computer, then log into TableBuilder and upload the files using the My Custom Data tab. Detailed instructions for uploading files are in the Custom Data section of the TableBuilder User Guide.
Please note: the electoral division of Fenner is split across the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Other Territories (OT) and the electoral division of Lingiari is split across the Northern Territory (NT) and Other Territories (OT). Users will need to upload both relevant state files when accessing 2011 Census data for these electoral divisions.
Information Consultancy request
The 2016 CED boundaries are also available by requesting a customised table through Information Consultancy. A fee applies for this service.
The CSV files have been created for the 2011 Place of Usual Residence databases and the 2011 Place of Enumeration databases. Place of Enumeration databases count people were they were located on Census night, whereas Place of Usual Residence databases count people according the location of their usual residence.
