OECD World Expert to be keynote speaker at NatStats08 Conference Mr Enrico Giovannini, Director of Statistics and Chief Statistician of the OECD, is leading the global project on Measuring the Progress of Societiesand is one of the keynote speakers at the inaugural NatStats08 Conference in Melbourne in November. The objective of the conference session on Measuring Progress in Societiesis to foster the development of sets of key economic, social and environmental indicators to provide a comprehensive picture of how the well-being of a society is evolving. The outcomes from the session will provide an important regional perspective for the next OECD World Forum which will be held in Korea in late 2009. The Measuring Progress in Societies session at the NatStats08 Conference will bring together local and international experts to discuss how we can understand and better measure progress in many aspects of people's lives - their health, education and social inclusion, the quality of their environment, their incomes, their work and leisure, and so on.
