This group covers R&D directed towards environmental issues not elsewhere classified. It includes Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic Oceanography and oceanic processes unrelated to climate change.
This group has three objectives:

Exclusions:
a) Management of solid, liquid and gaseous wastes generated and water consumption by economic activities is included in Sector B Economic Development.
b) Production aspects of agricultural crops, plants and primary plant products are included in Division 82 Plant Production and Primary Plant Products.
c) Farming and production aspects of animals and primary animal products are included in Division 83 Animal Production and Primary Animal Products.
d) Conservation of energy and efficient ways of energy use are included in Group 8507 Energy Conservation and Efficiency.
e) Rural, regional and urban planning issues, including environmental impact studies of new developments, are included in Group 8701 Construction Planning.
f) Oceanic processes that affect water safety and navigation are included in Group 8802 Water Transport.
g) Economic aspects of resource consumption are included in Group 9102 Microeconomics.
h) Economic aspects of the environment are included in Group 9199 Other Economic Framework.
i) Control and treatment of human diseases within the country’s borders are included in Division 92 Health.
j) Environmental ethics is included in Group 9504 Religion and Ethics.
k) The interaction of oceanic processes and climate is included in Group 9603 Climate and Climate Change.
