Pigs are raised throughout Victoria; the highest concentrations are in Loddon, Wimmera, Mallee and Goulburn Statistical Divisions (SD). At 30 June 2002, the Victorian pig herd stood at 673,300.

In 2001-02, most pigs in Victoria were found in Loddon SD (185,000). This was followed by Wimmera SD with 129,500, Mallee SD with 128,900 and Goulburn SD with 127,700.
