Main Features Building Approvals,Australia Dwelling Units Approved, State Trends About this Release Building Approvals, Australia (Media Release)	BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA NUMBER OF TOTAL DWELLING UNITS The trend estimate for Australia fell 1.7% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 9.9% to 16,425 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.2% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 0.5% to 9,278 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses fell 3.9% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 27.2% to 6,950 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 1.2% in May and has fallen for five months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.2% in May after rising for eight months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 7.6% in May and has fallen for six months.
