BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia fell 1.7% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 9.9% to 16,425 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.2% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 0.5% to 9,278 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses fell 3.9% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 27.2% to 6,950 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 1.2% in May and has fallen for five months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.2% in May after rising for eight months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 7.6% in May and has fallen for six months.
