Building a National Statistical Agency: From the CBCS to the ABS (cat. no. 1382.0.55.001). This article is an abstract from Informing a nation: the evolution of the Australian Bureau of Statistics 1905–2005 which will be released later this centenary year.

Australian Demographic Statistics (cat. no. 3101.0). This publication provides quarterly estimates of total population for states, territories and Australia. Includes the most recent estimates of the population in five-year age groups; numbers (and some rates) of births, deaths, infant deaths, interstate and overseas movements. Quarterly and/or annual time series tables throughout. Also includes population projections and estimated resident households for states, territories and Australia.

Information Paper: Determining Seats in the House of Representatives - Legislative Requirements for Provision of ABS Statistics (cat. no. 3107.0.55.002). This publication describes the current requirements under the Census and Statistics Act 1905and the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 in respect of the ABS population estimates to be provided to the Electoral Commissioner for use in determining representation of the states and territories in the House of Representatives. Also sets out the steps that have and will be taken by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Statistician in ensuring transparency of the publication of the statistics that will be provided to the Electoral Commissioner for the next electoral determination, due November 2005.

Disability, Ageing and Carers, Australia: Caring in the Community, Tables 17 to 24 (cat .no. 4430.0.55.004). In spreadsheets only, this release provides further tables expanding on those provided in the publication Disability, Ageing and Carers, Australia: Caring in the Community (cat.no. 430.0.55.003), focussing on carers and recipients of care. These spreadsheets use the Glossary and Explanatory notes from Disability, Ageing and Carers Australia: Summary of Findings (cat.no 4430.0).

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Survey: Expanded Confidentialised Unit Record File (cat. no. 4720.0.55.001). The expanded Confidentialised Unit Record File (CURF) from the 2002 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Survey (NATSISS) (formerly Indigenous Social Survey) brings together information from a wide range of topics. Topics include family and community, health, education, employment, income, financial stress, housing, transport and law and justice.

The file is only available through the Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL) to clients who have signed an undertaking stating that the information will be used for statistical purposes only and agreeing to the terms of use.

Labour Force, Australia, Spreadsheets (cat. no. 6202.0.55.001). This release is a set of Excel spreadsheets with summary results of the monthly Labour Force Survey containing estimates of employed and unemployed persons classified by sex, full-time/part-time status, states and territories and some age groups; and persons not in the labour force.

Forms of Employment, Australia (cat. no. 6359.0). This publication presents information on the nature and extent of various forms of employment in the Australian labour market. Information will be presented on identified sub-groups by selected job characteristics.

House Price Indexes: Eight Capital Cities (cat. no. 6416.0). This publication provides estimates of changes in housing prices in each of the eight capital cities of Australia. The information is presented in the form of price indexes constructed separately for established houses and for project homes.

Survey of Income and Housing: Confidentialised Unit Record File on CD-ROM/RADL (cat. no. 6541.0.30.001). This release is a file containing unit record data from the Survey of Income and Housing Costs. It is confidentialised and as such contains no names and addresses and the detail for some items of data has been reduced. The file is distributed on CD-ROM as specified by the purchaser. Subject to the limitation of sample size and the data classifications used, it is possible to manipulate the data, produce tabulations and undertake statistical analyses to individual specifications.

This product is produced in CD-ROM format on a biennial basis.

Housing Motivations and Intentions, Queensland (cat. no. 8710.3.55.001). This publication provides information on household composition, dwelling and tenure type; household reasons for choosing to live in their current and previous dwelling; whether the household has moved together; whether the household intends to move together in the next 12 months; reasons and locations if a household intends to move in the next 12 months; broad household income.
