WESTERN AUSTRALIA

  • In 2015-16, the ten SA2s with the largest population increases in Western Australia were all within Greater Perth. The outer coastal SA2 of Yanchep had the largest growth, increasing by 4,300 to reach 18,900 people. Large growth also occurred in Baldivis (3,400) in Perth's south-west, Ellenbrook (3,100) in the north-east and Forrestdale - Harrisdale - Piara Waters (2,800) in the south-east.
  • Yanchep was also the fastest growing SA2 in Western Australia in 2015-16, up by 29%. This was followed by the coastal area of North Coogee (20%) in Perth's west and Forrestdale - Harrisdale - Piara Waters (18%).
  • Of the SA2s outside of Greater Perth, those with the largest growth were Australind - Leschenault (480 people) and Busselton (470), both in the south-west of the state. The SA2s with the fastest growth were Busselton Region (3.2%) and Australind - Leschenault (2.6%).
