QUEENSLAND

  • In 2015-16, five of the ten SA2s with the largest population increases were located outside of Greater Brisbane, with four located on the Gold Coast.
  • The SA2 with the largest population increase in Queensland was North Lakes - Mango Hill (2,200 people) in the Moreton Bay region, north of Brisbane. Large growth also occurred in Pimpama (2,100) on the Gold Coast, Dakabin - Kallangur (1,400), also in the Moreton Bay region, Coomera on the Gold Coast and Deeragun, an outer suburb of Townsville (both 1,300).
  • Pimpama was the fastest-growing SA2 in Queensland (35%). This was followed by Coomera (11%), the outer southern Brisbane suburb of Rochedale - Burbank (10%), and North Lakes - Mango Hill (7.8%).
