In SA in November 2011, in trend terms, there were:

    • 33,100 cattle slaughtered, an increase of 13.6% on the November 2010 figure

    • just over 100 calves slaughtered, slightly less than the number slaughtered in November 2010

    • 68,200 sheep slaughtered, over 1,000 head less than the November 2010 figure

    • 269,600 lambs slaughtered, the fifth consecutive month of decline.
