Total environmental and other assets in Australia (current prices) for the 2017-18 financial year:

  • Net worth increased 3% to $11,889b
  • Produced capital increased 5% to $6,258b
  • Spectrum increased 2% to $22b.

The net present value for total environmental assets increased by 1% to $6,562b at current prices:
  • Land increased 1% to $5,921b
  • Mineral decreased 2% to $386b
  • Energy increased 6% to $244b
  • Timber increased 2% to $12b.

Energy assets contributed 4% to total environmental asset value:
  • Natural gas contributed 83% to total energy assets
  • Crude oil and condensate combined contributed 15% to total energy assets.

Mineral assets contributed 6% to total environmental asset value:
  • Iron ore contributed 58% to total mineral assets
  • Copper, gold and antimony contributed 30% to total mineral assets.

Land accounts for 90% of the total value of environmental assets.
