A population pyramid is a graph showing the age and sex distribution of a population. It is a useful tool in revealing information about a population's history and future possibilities. Animated population pyramids show the change of population distribution over time.

Western Australia

The pyramids are based on an open source code made available by Office for National Statistics, UK, and Federal Statistical Office of Germany.

Information about the Data

The estimates and projections presented in the pyramid are for 30 June of each year displayed. Population estimates are presented for 1971 to 2007 and population projections are presented for 2008 to 2051 (series B).
