The Australian Bureau of Statistics has announced the winner of the 'Your Victoria' photography competition.

The winning photograph was taken by Craig Francisco of Berwick in Victoria.

Victoria Census Director, Sam Thomas says Craig’s winning photograph captured the Melbourne sports precinct with stunning views into the distance.

"The competition was intended to get people thinking about their community. The winning artwork depicts the vastness of Victoria and the diverse nature of our wonderful state." Mr Thomas says

Craig's photograph will be showcased on Avant Cards at venues around Victoria.

The Census of Population and Housing will be held on Tuesday, 9 August.

The Census is a snapshot of Australia and provides important information to decision makers and communities to help plan for our future.

Since Friday, 29,000 Census Collectors have been delivering Census forms and eCensus envelopes to every household in Australia.
