In Victoria in November 2011, in trend terms, there were:

    • 104,500 cattle slaughtered, a decline of 7.3% from the November 2010 figure

    • 23,700 calves slaughtered, the highest number of any state or territory (43.7% of all calves slaughtered)

    • 169,300 sheep slaughtered, the highest number in the nation (38.5% of all sheep slaughtered)

    • 613,500 lambs slaughtered, 4.5% lower than in November 2010 but still the highest number of any state or territory (41.8% of all lambs slaughtered).
