POPULATION AGE AND SEX STRUCTURE

The following 17 tables contain historical data on the population age-sex structure for Australia, states and territories through both historic census counts and estimated resident population.

Contains population estimates for Australia by age (five-year age groups) and sex for the years 1901 to 2003.

Table 20. Population, age and sex, NSW, 1833 - 1846
Contains the NSW census count by age and sex for the years 1833, 1836, 1841 and 1846. For the years 1833 and 1836 the categories of age include above 12 years of age, under 12 years of age, convict and total. For the years 1841 and 1846 the categories of age include under 2 years, 2-7, 7-14, 14-21, 21-45, 45-60 years, 60 and older and totals.

Contains the NSW census count by age (five-year age groups) of sex for they years 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891.
