This group covers R&D directed towards the manufacture of ceramics, glass and glass products and industrial mineral products, including clay, cement and concrete products. It includes R&D directed towards the manufacture of plaster and non-metallic mineral products.
This group has six objectives:

    861001 Cement Products and Concrete Materials
    861002 Ceramics
    861003 Clay Products
    861004 Plaster and Plaster Products
    861005 Structural Glass and Glass Products
    861099 Ceramics, Glass and Industrial Mineral Products not elsewhere classified

    Exclusions:
    a) Mining, extraction, and first stage processing of stone, clay, sand and ores used for the manufacture of ceramics, glass and industrial mineral products are included in Division 84 Mineral Resources (excl. Energy Resources).
    b) Testing the performance and durability and life cycle of building materials is included in Group 8703 Construction Materials Performance and Processes.
