This group covers R&D directed towards growing sown legumes, sown grasses, browse and fodder crops, native vegetation and any other pasture crops. It includes R&D directed towards harvesting, preparation and storage of pasture, browse and fodder crops.
This group has seven objectives:

    830401 Browse Crops
    830402 Lucerne
    830403 Native and Residual Pastures
    830404 Non-Cereal Crops for Hay
    830405 Non-Cereal Crops for Silage/Green Feed
    830406 Sown Pastures (excl. Lucerne)
    830499 Pasture, Browse and Fodder Crops not elsewhere classified

    Exclusions:
    a) Growing grain, oilseed, industrial and horticultural crops, including cereals grown either partially or entirely for use as fodder or feed grain is included in Division 82 Plant Production and Plant Primary Products.
    b) Operation of irrigation systems is included in Group 9004 Water and Waste Services.
