This group covers R&D directed towards the conservation and efficient use of energy in industry,
transport, commerce and households. It includes energy used in forms such as petroleum products, electricity, gas, coke and briquettes and in the form of heat energy.
This group has five objectives:

    850701 Commercial Energy Conservation and Efficiency
    850702 Energy Conservation and Efficiency in Transport
    850703 Industrial Energy Conservation and Efficiency
    850704 Residential Energy Conservation and Efficiency
    850799 Energy Conservation and Efficiency not elsewhere classified

    Exclusions:
    a) Design of buildings to minimise energy consumption in the finished building is included in Group 8702 Construction Design.
