National Science Festival - ABS presentation, Tonight - 20 August, Convention Centre, Canberra Chris Libreri, one of the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) senior statisticians, will be presenting a talk as part of the National Science Festival at the National Convention Centre in Canberra tonight. With postgraduate qualifications in Statistics and Management, and many years of experience in both working with statistical collections as well as watching how the statistics get applied, Chis will be showcasing some of the famous - and infamous - uses of statistics. Statistics affect all aspects of our lives, determine some of our personal choices and shape decisions made by our leaders. This talk will surprise you, and convince you about the power of numbers in ensuring the right decisions are made.
