KEY POINTS

Livestock slaughtering and meat production quarterly trend movements for March 2016:
    • Beef production for the March Quarter 2016 fell 3 percent on December Quarter 2015 and 13 percent year on year.
    • Veal production decreased by 900 tonnes on the December Quarter and 4,300 tonnes year on year.
    • Mutton production in the March Quarter 2016 fell by 3 percent on the December Quarter 2015 and fell by 8 percent year on year.
    • Lamb production increased in the March Quarter 2016 by 1,900 tonnes or 1 percent and increased by 3 percent year on year.
    • The production of pork increased in the March Quarter 2016 by 100 tonnes compared to production in the December Quarter 2015.
