CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE

The seasonally adjusted and trend series have been updated following the normal annual review of the seasonal adjustment process. There may be revisions to historical series.

CHANGES IN NEXT ISSUE

The next issue of Retail Trade, Australia (cat.no. 8501.0, August 2007) will introduce some changes to the survey design. While these changes will improve the efficiency and accuracy of the survey, they will impact the level estimates released for earlier time series. To determine the size of the change in level, the survey for July 2007 was conducted under both the old and new designs. Any significant shift in level will be smoothed into the series back to April 1982 to remove, as far as possible, any impact on movement statistics across the time series. The changes will be discussed in more detail in the August issue of Retail Trade, Australia.
