STATE TRENDS VICTORIA Trend growth has been weak for six months. Food retailing has had two months of weak trend growth following five months of moderate growth. Department stores (three months) and Household good retailing (one month) have had weak growth. Clothing and soft good retailing has had 13 months of strong trend growth, while the remaining industries have been in decline for at least five months. QUEENSLAND Queensland has had strong trend growth for seven months. Food retailing (18 months), Department stores (four months), Clothing and soft good retailing (five months), Recreational good retailing (one month), Other retailing (five months) and Hospitality and services (six months) have all had strong trend growth. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend growth has been moderate for 17 months. Food retailing had weak trend growth in July 2007 following seven months of moderate growth, while Department stores has had six months of moderate trend growth. Clothing and soft good retailing (two months) and Hospitality and services (six months) have had strong growth. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend growth has been declining since December 2006 with weak growth in July 2007. Food retailing had moderate trend growth in July 2007 following nine months of strong growth. Clothing and soft good retailing has had two months of weak growth, while Department stores has had three months of strong growth. Household good retailing and Hospitality and services have been in decline for three months. TASMANIA Trend growth has been strong for six months. Food retailing (eight months), Recreational good retailing (five months) and Hospitality and services (five months) have all had strong trend growth.
