ARTS AND CULTURE: STATE AND TERRITORY PROFILES

Drawing together data from a variety of ABS sources, Arts and Culture: State and Territory Profiles is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of arts and culture in each of the state and territory jurisdictions.

Each state or territory profile will contain information on a range of topics including participation in cultural activities, cultural funding by government, employment in culture, and attendances at cultural venues and events.

Topics included in this first release are:
  • Children's Participation in Cultural and Leisure Activities
  • Cultural Participation
  • Cultural Funding by Government
  • Employment in Culture

Presented as a series of stand alone reports, the profiles will be updated on an ongoing basis as and when data from key ABS surveys becomes available.

Information is classified as being 'cultural' according to the Australian Culture and Leisure Industry Classification.

Unless otherwise noted, specific differences in rates of participation and attendance discussed in the reports are considered statistically significant.
