30/01/2008 Note: 2006 Place of Enumeration Profile DataPack for Remoteness Areas has been issued.

2006 DataPacks' is a CD-ROM product containing 2006 Census of Population and Housing Community Profile data for all of Australia to the Collection District (CD) level and the matching digital boundary basemaps in generic Geographical Information System (GIS) format. The '2006 DataPacks' product contains 2006 Community Profile data in CSV format and digital boundary basemaps in both '.Mid/Mif' and 'ESRI.shp' formats.

Consistent with the two-phase release of 2006 Census data, there will be two releases for a number of '2006 DataPacks' products. First release DataPacks contain variables which are relatively easy to process and are available on release day. Second release DataPacks contain those plus other variables which require more complex processing. These DataPacks tables will be available on or after the second release date. The '2006 DataPacks' product is available for purchase for all of Australia. Some DataPacks will require more than one CD-Rom. The product will be available for the following profiles:

Indigenous Profile DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.002) First/Second Release
Time Series Profile DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.003) First/Second Release
Place of Enumeration Profile DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.004) First/Second Release
Expanded Community Profile DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.005) First/Second Release
Working Population Profile DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.006) Second Release
Estimated Resident Population DataPack (cat. no. 2069.0.30.007) Second Release
