(a) Proportions are of all businesses which had a web presence as at 30 June 2008 in each employment size category.
(b) Businesses could identify more than one feature.
(c) Online payment capabilities for goods or services irrespective of whether ordered via the Internet or web.

Information about the business was the most common type of web feature across all employment size groups. Businesses with 200 or more persons employed were the most likely to report more sophisticated web features. For example, businesses with 200 or more persons employed were more than twice as likely to report automated link with back end systems than the smaller employment size groups.

Web presence features at the industry level are similarly high for information about the business and inquiry or contact facility (all 80% or higher), whereas the proportions reporting the more sophisticated web features are driven by the nature of the transactions undertaken in each industry. As examples, Wholesale trade and Retail trade were highest for web features that aid in online purchasing, such as online ordering, shopping cart facilities and online payment capabilities; Transport, postal and warehousing had the highest proportion of businesses with the facility to track orders, at 18%.
