This group covers R&D directed towards providing or delivering community and welfare services to individuals or to defined community groups such as the disabled, aged persons and single parents.
This group has eighteen objectives:

    940105 Children's/Youth Services and Childcare
    940106 Citizenship and National Identity
    940107 Comparative Structure and Development of Community Services
    940108 Distribution of Income and Wealth
    940109 Employment Services
    940110 Environmental Services
    940111 Ethnicity, Multiculturalism and Migrant Development and Welfare
    940112 Families and Family Services
    940113 Gender and Sexualities
    940114 Maori Development and Welfare
    940115 Pacific Peoples Development and Welfare
    940116 Social Class and Inequalities
    940117 Structure, Delivery and Financing of Community Services
    940199 Community Service (excl. Work) not elsewhere classified

    a) Development and provision of health services to specific population groups such as the aged persons, carers, children, men and women, indigenous communities, etc. and community health education is included in Division 92 Health.
    b) Unpaid work and volunteering is included in Group 9405 Work and Institutional Development.
    c) Social ethics is included in Group 9504 Religion and Ethics.
